Residential and commercial electrical installations
Introduction
The electrical installations program at the Benjamín Herrera Technical School, in its morning session, aims to provide technical secondary education students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of electricity, this field has experienced rapid growth since its inception. discovery and need trained professionals to design, calculate and install electrical systems in industrial, commercial and residential environments.
The main purpose of this program is to train technical graduates specialized in electrical installations with solid skills in both the work and professional fields. These graduates will contribute to technical and technological development at the local, regional and national level. Additionally, the program facilitates students' transition into higher education in electrical-related careers.
The program is developed during the last two grades of secondary education and consists of five thematic modules: Circuit Analysis, Polyphase Systems, Internal Installations, Low Voltage Connections and Grounding Systems. At the end of the educational process, students acquire skills in the electrical sector, thanks to their creative, innovative training and teamwork skills. This enables them to start their own businesses in the field and continue their education at higher levels.
The Technical Secondary Education proposed by the General Education Law in 1994, allowed the institution to implement this type of education based on a diagnosis since 1998, beginning the process with the specialties of architectural design and electrical installations. In 2000, the Biotechnology specialty was implemented as another option for the institution's students. Since 2014, the specialty program was modified by Food Agroindustry.
Decree 3020 of 2002 regulated the application of parameters for compliance with school days and their hour intensity, which led to the implementation of the counter-day for the technical area, in the institution it has been implemented since 2006, in Currently and in compliance with Law 115, there are agreements with the SENA.
